After much deliberation, I have decided that I need to start writing on our blog again, because while pontificating my thoughts in a different forum is fun, and I will of course continue, life in the Walrath family is about to make a change and I want to keep everybody updated on us.
Now you know!

As many of you know, I have been reaccepted to BYU-Idaho, and I am terribly excited about it. Here's a brief FAQ, as many of my friends, family, and co-workers have been desperate to know "the plan."
Question: When are you moving?
Answer: School starts April 17, so we will be gone at least a few days prior.
Q: What will you study?
A: Spanish Education is my major, and my planned minor at present is Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL).
Q: But WHY?
A: Um, because it's time to move on with our lives!
Q: How long will it take?
A: I'm hoping to have it all done within a year, but we'll see how well everything fits into my schedule.
Q: When are you moving back?
A: Utah has never been my goal, and I frankly don't believe in settling down in one place for your whole life. Sooo... I have no idea! That's the fun of it!
Q: What about your job?
A: I work at a resort, and the season ends in April anyway, not to mention that my restaurant will be closing for renovations for at least a month or two. Everyone will be clamoring for a different job up there, and truly, I've been saved from a dog fight.
Q: Is Casey going with you?
A: Do you people even know me? I'm a needy person! I need my husband with me!
Q: What will he do?
A: He has been applying to a few jobs every day since we found out, but until he finds something new, it looks like his current job will allow him to telecommute from Rexburg.
Q: Where will you live?
A: Somewhere in Rexburg that has yet to be determined. We plan to go up and sign a lease somewhere this month.
Q: Are you excited?
A: Hells yes! I mean, heck yes! (Gotta get used to BYU-I types again...)
Honestly, I've felt like I'm on the brink of our next phase since before we moved into my parents' house, and I couldn't be happier about this. Casey is more excited for me to rule over a kitchen again than the Idaho part, but we're both excited to move on.
Now I have 5 minutes to get myself dressed and out the door.
Any questions I missed?
Well, boo, you move right before my birthday. :( I was planning on throwing a party about a week beforehand, I'll let you know when we decide and hopefully I'll get to spend some time with you. Congratulations on getting re-accepted, though! I'm super excited for you!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for this Brooke! can't wait to see how if goes for you in Rexburg. I literally shudder at the thought of me going anywhere near Idaho, but I know you'll rock it!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Check me out! http://kayleehornsby.blogspot.com
Hooray! Rexburg will be all the better now that you're coming home! May I suggest taking a look at Hyde Park? It's a great apartment complex with a fantastic ward. Babies everywhere! You'll never hear a sacrament meeting talk while you're there because you're too distracted with all the babies!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting Brooke! My cousin was just accepted to BYU-Idaho and will be starting later this year--maybe you'll see her around campus!
